...Celebrate With Female Prisoners In Owerri

As the world marks International Women’s Day, a day dedicated to celebrating the strength, resilience, and achievements of women, Family Rebuilders Outreach has taken a bold step to inspire transformation and renewed purpose among women in society. In line with this year’s theme of empowerment and productivity, the organization not only challenged women to embrace personal growth and meaningful impact, but also extended compassion to often-forgotten members of society by celebrating the occasion with female inmates at the Owerri Correctional Centre, reminding them that their stories are not over and that transformation remains possible.
This is even as the organization extended the renewed hope message to female inmates in Owerri correctional centre.
This was made known by the founder of Family Rebuilders Outreach (FRO), Mrs Beatrice Anachuna, while presenting an address in commemoration of International Women’s Day Celebration.
She highlighted that the organization is focused on women and children transformational empowerment initiative.
"FRO is a family-focused development organization committed to strengthening homes, empowering women, and raising confident children."
Mrs Anachuna revealed that the program reflected the organization’s core belief that strong families are the foundation of a thriving society, and that when women are empowered with structure, clarity, and support, the ripple effect transforms homes, communities, and the nation.
She said, "Family Rebuilders Outreach is a non-governmental, family-focused organization dedicated to rebuilding and strengthening families as the foundation of a healthy society.
"Its mission is rooted in the belief that when women are strengthened, families flourish and when families flourish, nations become stronger.Through mentorship programs, empowerment trainings, community interventions, and humanitarian outreach, the organization continues to champion the cause of building whole families and raising resilient communities."
The event featured "Efficiency Reset Session for Women", led by renowned leadership strategist and development catalyst Chinedu Nwagu.
Delivering his lecture titled, “The Structured Woman: Increasing Efficiency in the Pursuit of Our Dreams and Our Ministry as Mothers.” He challenged women to rethink productivity, urging them to move beyond mere activity into structured, intentional living.
According to him, many women struggle not because they lack ability, but because their lives lack structure and alignment.
He explained that efficiency is not about doing more but about eliminating frictions between identity, resources, and impact, emphasizing that a woman must first understand her season and assignment before designing her schedule.
The development expert introduced participants to practical frameworks for managing time, energy, attention, and support systems; tools designed to help women balance family life, personal development, business, and ministry without burnout.
The participants described the session as a mindset reset, equipping them with practical systems to build purposeful lives while nurturing their families.
They also Observed that the teaching has the potential to create a ripple effect across homes and communities, as structured and empowered women naturally raise structured families and confident children.
"Following the training session, members of Family Rebuilders Outreach proceeded to the Owerri Correctional Centre, where they visited female inmates as part of the organization’s humanitarian outreach program in commemoration of International Women’s Day.
"The women donated self-care and personal hygiene kits containing soap, sponges, toothpaste, toothbrushes, sanitary pads, and petroleum jelly."
According to the founder of the organization, Mrs Beatrice Anachuna, the gesture was intentional and symbolic.
She explained that self-care is deeply connected to dignity and self-respect, and small acts of care has the capacity to restore confidence and emotional strength in individuals facing difficult circumstances.
Addressing the inmates, Mrs Anachuna delivered a message titled “Renewed Hope: Rebuilding From Within.”
She encouraged the women to see their present situation not as the end of their story but as an opportunity for reflection, growth, and inner rebuilding.
Mrs Anachuna reminded them that transformation begins internally and that every woman, regardless of her past or circumstances, deserves dignity, hope and a second chance at life.
The inmates responded with gratitude and enthusiasm, expressing appreciation for the visit and pledging to embrace positive change and personal growth.
Mrs Anachuna expressed appreciation to the officers and staff of the correctional facility for their cooperation and support during the visit.
She also revealed that the prison outreach will become a periodic initiative, as care for vulnerable and marginalized populations forms core part of the organization’s mandate.
According to her, participants left with renewed inspiration and practical tools to pursue their dreams, strengthen their homes, and contribute meaningfully to society.
She highlighted that for many of the women present, the event was more than a gathering, "It was a call to intentional living, disciplined growth, and purposeful impact.
"With initiatives like this, Family Rebuilders Outreach continues to position itself as a growing voice in women development, family empowerment, and community transformation in Nigeria."
