The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) on Wednesday dismissed assertions by Iran’s leadership that its forces had killed 100 U.S. Marines and inflicted heavy damage on American military assets, describing the reports as false.
In a statement shared on X, CENTCOM accused the Iranian regime of circulating what it termed “fake news,” including claims that U.S. troops were withdrawing from the region, that an American destroyer had been sunk, and that U.S. fighter jets had been shot down.
The command also refuted statements from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) alleging that it had killed 100 U.S. Marines, emphasizing that no such incident had taken place.
Offering its own account of recent operations, CENTCOM stated that U.S. forces are escalating their campaign and extending strikes further into Iranian airspace. It added that American troops had destroyed more than 20 Iranian vessels through coordinated firepower across air, land, and sea platforms.
The statement further noted that within a four-day span, U.S. operations had reduced Iranian drone launches by 73 percent and ballistic missile launches by 86 percent.
CENTCOM maintained that U.S. military strength in the region remains fully intact and operational, underscoring that American power projection remains “unmatched.”
